in the Time
of Covid
In the early innocent and worrying days of the pandemic, thoughts of vulnerability and loss leaked into my artwork. These paintings are the result of such thoughts. They consider perceived strengths and weaknesses, relationships with nature and tolerance. I borrowed the title from the great magic realist writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ novel - ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’. While the paintings aim for harmony between human and wildlife there is, hopefully, also an unsettling element in the work.
